The Myelin Repair Foundation and the Nancy Davis Foundation contribute their funds exclusively to MS Research. The Myelin Repair Foundation spent $665,553 for administrative and fundraising costs, while the Nancy Davis Foundation spent $814,151 for the same.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Accelerated Cure Project and the Montel Williams MS Foundation contribute funds to education, awareness and MS Research. Neither organization provides financial assistance to patients, however the Accelerated Cure Project makes a great deal of information available to patients through their website, news forum, and extensive database.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The numbers presented above come from the Fiscal Year 2007 which ends on September 30, 2008 in most cases. Fiscal Year 2008 has yet to end.
Very interesting!
ReplyDeleteThe Davis family must be in the administration of the foundation, 22 %, wow!
ReplyDeleteAndy,
ReplyDeleteThat would be my first thought too. Nancy Davis is the President and is compensated $150,000 + $30,936 for employee benefit plans. The other board members Tom Arnold, Teri Garr, Tommy Hilfiger, Montel Williams, and many other are not compensated.
The Executive Director, Liz Zigal, is compensated $93,750 + $7,764 for employee benefit plans. And the single other employee, an assistant, is paid $42,166 without any further benefit contributions.
It looks like office rent, parking, telephone service, and postage alone cost about $80,000. Accounting costs $30,477, payroll taxes are $33,422, and other employee benefits $21,536.
It all adds up quickly enough.
All I can say is, "DAMN, YOU'RE GOOD!!!"
ReplyDeleteI'm nominating YOU for an Obama Cabinet post...
Thanks for the detailed information. It's always good to know where donated money is going and what the various organizations are focusing on.
